Overview

About This Safari

The Great Migration is the largest overland animal movement on Earth - 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra, and 350,000 gazelle circling endlessly through the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in search of fresh grazing. No documentary captures the scale, the sound, and the raw power of witnessing it live.

This 10-day itinerary is built around the migration calendar. Depending on your travel dates, we position you to witness either the dramatic river crossings at the Mara River in the north (July-October), the calving season on the southern plains (January-March), or the great northward push across the central Serengeti plains (April-June). We track the herds in real time using live field reports and adjust the itinerary accordingly.

Beyond the migration, this extended itinerary covers the full northern circuit - Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Central Serengeti, and the remote northern Serengeti near the Kenyan border. It is the complete Tanzania experience.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The Mara River crossings occur during the northern migration, typically July through October. This is the most dramatic phase. However, the calving season (January-March) in the southern Serengeti is equally spectacular and less crowded. We advise based on your travel dates.
